Commission for Historically Problematic Cultural Heritage

The Commission for Historically Problematic Cultural Heritage advises the Federal Council and Federal Administration on cultural heritage of tainted historical origin. It provides non-binding recommendations for specific cultural items in response to requests from third parties.

The commission members exercise their office in an independent capacity. The commission is administratively based with the Federal Office of Culture.

The commission promotes just and fair solutions. In doing so, it refers to the Washington Principles of 1998 and the Terezín Declaration of 2009.
