Composition

The members of the commission come from a range of disciplines. It can have nine to twelve members and initially has ten members. The members are selected by the Federal Council and exercise their mandate in a personal capacity as an additional function.

The commission is chaired by a president.

The members have proven expertise, especially in the areas of history, provenance research, law, ethics and intercultural issues.

• Regula Ludi, Professor of History at the University of Freiburg

• Nikola Doll, Department Head, German Lost Art Foundation
• Esther Tisa Francini, Head of Provenance Research, Archives at the Rietberg Museum
• Hanno Loewy, Former Director of the Jewish Museum Hohenems
• Henri-Michel Yéré, Historian and Lecturer at the University of Basel
• Fabio Rossinelli, Historian and Researcher at the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva

Secretariat

The secretariat provides professional and administrative support to the commission. It is administratively affiliated to the Federal Office of Culture and reports to the president of the commission.

It functions as an information and press office for the public.
