Organisation
Composition
The members of the commission come from a range of disciplines. It can have nine to twelve members and initially has ten members. The members are selected by the Federal Council and exercise their mandate in a personal capacity as an additional function.
The commission is chaired by a president.

Secretariat
The secretariat provides professional and administrative support to the commission. It is administratively affiliated to the Federal Office of Culture and reports to the president of the commission.
It functions as an information and press office for the public.
